Marriott Announces New Program to Recognize Housekeepers


In partnership with Maria Shriver and A Woman’s Nation™, Marriott International is pleased to announce that we will be the inaugural partner of The Envelope Please™, a campaign aimed at elevating the visibility of hotel housekeepers whose care and effort can go unseen by hotel guests. Participation in the campaign acknowledges the remarkable service housekeepers provide every day by encouraging hotel guests to leave a voluntary gratuity for their housekeeper.

As part of the initiative, Marriott will place signature envelopes in the guest rooms of Marriott-managed hotels in the U.S. and Canada beginning during International Housekeepers Week, September 14-20. Franchised hotels have the option to independently decide whether they wish to adopt a similar program.

Franchised hotels wishing to participate may order their brand-specific envelopes through AS Hospitality. To ensure delivery for International Housekeepers Week which begins on September 14, any AS Hospitality orders should be placed by August 22. As this will be an ongoing program, franchised hotels are also able to order beyond this deadline if they would like to implement these envelopes in the future. As an alternative, the envelope design files will be made available early next week in BrandWorks so franchised hotels may have the envelopes printed locally.
