Marriott’s Preferred Partnership Agreement (PPA)


Franchisees | Marriott’s Preferred Partnership strategy is designed to grow preference, loyalty and share from top group intermediaries and encourage incremental group business within the scope of our Global Distribution Strategy.

We encourage you to work with your Sales and Revenue teams and sign up for Marriott’s PPA by March 1 as these intermediary partners (HelmsBriscoe, Martiz/Experient, ConferenceDirect and HPN Global) represent approximately $500M in group rooms revenue to Marriott annually.

This information was communicated to hotels via the December 1 Weekly Update. As a follow-up, and to ensure franchised hotels are positioned to maximize their success with our top four intermediary partners, we wanted to share this information with our franchise management companies as well.

Participation in these programs helps drive incremental business because it:

  • Gives participating hotels preferential consideration over non-participating hotels
  • Motivates intermediary partners to book Marriott-branded hotels because of our unique 5&5 commission payment plan (with 5% of the commission paid at time of contract signing and the remaining 5% paid after the event has actualized)
  • Offers marketing opportunities of need dates on the partners intranet site
  • Affords participation in intermediary partners annual meetings
  • Allows hotels to opt-in to select group partner agreements which they believe will drive incremental business
  • Does not carry any additional costs or require commitments outside of the terms of the agreements

Participation in the 2014 Preferred Partner program does not automatically roll over to 2015 and failure to participate may impact your visibility and revenue generation with these influential group partners.

Hotels can also opt to participate in the FastPay program that centralizes payment of commissions to ensure quicker, more accurate payments and eliminates check distribution at the hotel level.
