Rewards Update: Above-Property Personal Concierge Service to be Renamed Marriott Rewards Ambassador Service


Beginning February 9, Marriott Rewards Above-Property Personal Concierge Service will be known as Marriott Rewards Ambassador service. This change supports our continued effort to harmonize the Marriott Rewards, The Ritz-Carlton Rewards and SPG programs, while encouraging associates to continue creating consistent memorable experiences for Rewards members.

Properties will be notified of this upcoming change via the January 30 Weekly Update and will be asked to:

  • Ensure successful property pull-through of Marriott Rewards Ambassador service.
  • Continue to encourage all associates to proactively and positively engage with members, creating memorable experiences and bringing the loyalty program to life every day.

Marriott Rewards ambassadors will notify their members of this name change via email prior to February 9.

Although SPG has its own ambassador service, each program will continue to run separately for now, except for major member milestone recognition (e.g., 50th wedding anniversary, 40th birthday). SPG and Marriott Rewards ambassadors will coordinate efforts, and hotels will pull through these requests following existing processes.

As a reminder, effective January 1, on-property amenities requested by ambassadors will be at the cost of the individual hotel. This information was included in the 2017 budget instructions.

As we begin the New Year and continue our effort to harmonize the Marriott Rewards, The Ritz-Carlton Rewards and SPG programs, serving our valued members remains a top priority. Renaming Marriott Rewards Ambassador service is just another step in bringing our programs together to further enhance members’ experiences. Thank you for your continued support of these programs.
