Marriott to Launch LOBO, A New Global Design Platform
Beginning on April 5, all approved new-build and renovation projects will be opened in Lobo, Marriott’s new Global Design platform. While Buzzsaw, Marriott’s former new-build and renovation site, has served users well over the years as a place to share brand standards, project files, and design submittals, there has been an increasing need for a system that offers even more. While Lobo houses the same information as Buzzsaw, it will introduce a number of new features, such as:
- a customized project portfolio view
- enhanced search functionality
- mobile device compatibility, which will allow access to project files anywhere, anytime
- customization and improved collaboration opportunities
- a one-stop-shop for all design needs, which allows for streamlined workflows
- restructured standards for former Starwood brands to align with MI format and structure
On April 4, an email will be sent to all registered users of Buzzsaw from globaldesignsupport@marriott.com which will contain your Lobo login credentials. It’s important to know that the period of time from April 5 – 18 is a soft launch interval, which means that while new projects and design standards will be open and available in Lobo, projects will also be available in Buzzsaw until April 18. After that time, Buzzsaw will switch to read-only, and on April 30, projects and design standards will only be available in Lobo. For a linear view of the launch timeline, click here.
During this soft launch period, a help desk hotline will be open and available for any questions Monday – Friday between 12 and 2 p.m. ET. The Lobo team invites you to join one of their introductory webinars on March 28 at 11 a.m. ET, March 30 at 1 p.m. ET, or April 7 at 2 p.m. ET. During the webinars, the team will provide an overview of the platform and field questions from attendees. Lastly, to assist with transitioning to the new platform, the Lobo team has also put together a series of training videos for your reference.
As we enter this phase of system changes, we appreciate your patience and understanding. Should you have any questions regarding Lobo at any time during this process, please contact globaldesignsupport@marriott.com.
