Connect My Device
Connect My Device, an optional add-on for Marriott’s industry-leading Guestroom Entertainment System, is now available for purchase. Using Google Chromecast technology, Connect My Device allows guests to stream their personal video or audio content onto the guestroom television using their mobile device (iOS or Android) and the hotel’s WiFi. Guests want to be able to watch on-demand streaming content, and Chromecast offers over 10,000 compatible video and audio applications including HBO GO, Spotify, and SlingTV.
Using an intuitive 3-step connection process, Connect My Device is simple for guests to use. The technology does not store personal guest information; the guest will need to perform the connection process each time the television is turned on. When the guest checks out of their room, the guest’s device information will be cleared automatically.
Properties which already have the Guestroom Entertainment platform installed will be able to purchase Connect My Device as an additional feature. The average cost is approximately $60 per room for procurement and installation of the device. At this time, Guest-Tek and World Cinema are the only approved Connect My Device providers.
If you are interested in providing your guests with the ability to stream their personal content, contact your Guestroom Entertainment vendor to begin the installation process. At this time, Connect My Device is an optional feature in the U.S. and Canada, and is not a brand standard requirement. Thus, we recommend you work directly with your vendor to schedule and manage the installation.
