Launch of Marriott Environmental Sustainability Hub (MESH)
As previously communicated, Marriott International has partnered with Schneider Electric to bring all hotels globally onto a single utility platform – Marriott Environmental Sustainability Hub (MESH).
Marriott will begin rolling out MESH to Wave 1 hotels in the Americas beginning November 2017. MESH will replace the current Green Hotels Global Brand Standard.
WHY ARE WE MOVING TO MESH?
MESH is designed to:
- Monitor utility usage and costs
- Support tracking and analysis of ROI projects
- Evaluate alternative energy opportunities
- Track compliance of sustainability initiatives
Properties will experience a reduction in costs along with increased functionality through the implementation of MESH. Over the next four years, hotels will start to experience savings over the current platform with some properties experiencing annual savings of 20% or more by Year 4.
WHEN WILL MESH BE DEPLOYED?
Deployment of MESH will occur in two waves, with Wave 1 scheduled to begin preparation and training in November 2017. Wave 2, including SPG hotels, will transition in January 2018. The list of Marriott Rewards hotels and their respective deployment waves is available on the MESH MGS Page.
The Marriott International team is partnering with Schneider Electric to deliver training, which will be available in English, French, Mandarin, Portuguese and Spanish via instructor-led webinars. Registration links for the instructor-led webinars will be available in Land-It and training recordings are available on the MESH MGS Page.
We expect minimal disruption for hotels during the deployment, as the primary change for hotels will be to submit their utility to data to MESH instead of Green Hotels Global.
Our team looks forward to deploying this industry-leading initiative to hotels around the world. Please direct any questions on the MESH program to MESHSupport@ems.schneider-electric.com.
Please note: more information required to support the deployment will be provided to your hotels via the Oct. 23 Weekly Update.
