Revenue Management Brand Standards Now Restrict Third-Party Access
Marriott has developed a consistent approach to prohibiting third-party revenue managers access to Marriott systems, and this change is addressed through several new and updated standards. These standards strengthen the ability to protect proprietary revenue management data, systems and information. Hotels will no longer be allowed to provide revenue management system access to a third-party revenue management person or company. These new and updated standards were designed with stakeholders in mind, and a policy of prohibiting third-party revenue managers access to Marriott systems will ensure that proprietary revenue management systems, data and information are protected.
Additionally, the point of contact at a franchise hotel that is responsible for the revenue management role must be dedicated to this function, and for Marriott Rewards hotels, must be certified as outlined in the One Yield v2 certification standard.
An employee of the Management Company is permitted to provide Revenue Management services (which includes access to Marriott proprietary Revenue Management systems) for multiple hotels so long as (a) such Revenue Manager’s role is solely dedicated to revenue management activities (the revenue management tasks cannot be assigned to, or combined with, the responsibilities in other roles (e.g. GM, Director of Sales, Operations etc.); and (ii) the hotels supported by such Revenue Manager are subject to a management agreement with the management company.
