RFID Keycard Vendor Update

RFID keycards which are compatible with Marriott-approved lock system suppliers (Onity, Dorma Kaba, and Ving) may be purchased through Plasticard Locktech International (PLI), as well as from Ving directly. Compared to clone manufacturers which may advertise lower pricing, Marriott recommends PLI and Ving for RFID keycards when taking into consideration price, patented technology, production capacity, and brand support. Furthermore, purchasing through PLI and/or Ving minimizes the risk of lawsuits for patent infringement, as manufacturers offering cloned RFID keycards have been found to not be using licensed technology.

When determining which keycard supplier to purchase from, Marriott strongly recommends that you work with suppliers based off the current lock systems in use, as well as by brand. Marriott Rewards properties which currently utilize Ving lock systems are recommended, due to favorable pricing, to purchase keycards through Ving. The table below outlines Avendra’s door lock recommendations:

Please note that key artwork is expected to be updated with new logos and brand aesthetic for Courtyard, Fairfield, Residence Inn, SpringHill and TownePlace Suites in the coming months; as a result, hotels are encouraged to consider these dates when determining what quantity to order.
