Distinctive Select Brand Training Update


AC, Moxy, Aloft and Element Owners & Franchise Management Companies | Last November, the Distinctive Select Brand Team announced new training requirements for 2018. These requirements focused in two areas – Orientation & Service Training, and GM-specific training. These new programs are designed to ensure associates have the distinctive mindset, skills and information to provide an on-brand experience for every guest at every property. The training requirements also focus on helping set the foundation for more effective operational execution of hotel processes each day.

The Distinctive Select Brand Team would like to share a few updates and reminders on these programs:

Orientation & Service Training – Aloft and Element

  • A new Orientation & Service Training module is now available for all high guest contact associates hired on or after January 1, 2018 – Lifestyle Focus Challenge. This course is designed to help associates provide more Lifestyle-Focused service in each guest interaction. It includes an eLearning module and follow-up activity guide. As with all other program modules, Lifestyle Focus Challenge is currently in use at AC and Moxy hotels. Program resources are now available on the program MGS pages.
  • As a reminder, Masterclass was retired on January 1, 2018. All properties should be conducting Daily Meetings for all associates, and delivering Orientation & Service Training to associates hired on or after January 1, 2018. Program information and resources are available on MGS for Aloft and Element brands.

GM Training – AC, Aloft, Element and Moxy

  • GMs can now access a new Distinctive Select Brand General Manager Training page on MGS for information about required training, course descriptions, and registration information.
  • Our 2018 Lifestyle Brand Immersion and Distinctive Connection sessions have been scheduled, and registration is available on the new GM Training page. All sessions are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
