Marriott Bonvoy™ Escapes Launching as New Distressed Inventory Product
This information will be shared with hotels via the April 22 Weekly Update.
Marriott is introducing an updated distressed inventory product, Marriott Bonvoy™ Escapes, which will replace eBreaks in the U.S., Canada and CALA. Marriott Bonvoy Escapes includes several elements of the legacy SPG Hot Escapes product. The intent of this product is to promote hotels experiencing unexpected demand declines by promoting Advance Purchase rates with savings of 20% for Marriott Bonvoy™ members and 15% for non-members.
Marriott Bonvoy Escapes rates will be merchandised on internal channels, including the new Promotional Landing Page. Rates will also be passed to OTA partners, including Expedia, Booking.com and Priceline.
Details
The first sale with this new product will launch May 8, 2019 and solicited hotels must opt in by April 30 to participate. Moving forward, there will be a Marriott Bonvoy Escapes sale every two weeks. Hotels in the U.S., Canada and CALA that have been centrally determined to have distressed inventory will be solicited to opt in via direct email to HPP contacts. Distressed inventory will be centrally determined based on a formula that compares One Yield version 2 system forecasted occupancy to the three-year average for the same timeframe.
The promotional website will go live every other Wednesday at 12:01 a.m. ET and will offer inventory for the following four weekends (Thursday-Sunday) for participating hotels (note: the offer will be available all days of the week for resorts).
There is no cost for hotels to participate in this promotion; however, solicited hotels can opt in to participate in only one sale per month. To learn more, visit MGS for details.
