MESH & SRO Tracker Compliance
Franchise Management Companies | Marriott Environmental Sustainability Hub (MESH) is Marriott’s utility platform, designed in partnership with Schneider Electric to bring all hotels globally onto a single platform that provides cost savings for hotels. As of January 2019, MESH has been included on the Brand Standard Audit (BSA). In order to be compliant for the BSA and for property sustainability information to be provided to customers, hotels should submit utility data through the invoice portal and complete the Sustain Responsible Operations (SRO) Tracker available in MESH. The utility data enables the hotel to track consumption and spend in a single location, while the SRO data serves as an opportunity for the hotel to understand operational efficiencies that may not be implemented.
Additionally, environmental sustainability is important to many corporate customers, and as part of the GBTA (Global Business Travel Association) industry-standard RFP process, hotels are obligated to answer several questions on energy, water and waste data in order for business to be considered.
Franchise management companies are encouraged to work with their hotels’ engineering team(s) to ensure that this data is complete (including 2016, 2017 and 2018 utility data) in order for this information to be fed into EPIC, MARRFP, and customer reports. The historical data enables an accurate baseline performance to be establish so the hotel can better understand and measure progress towards energy, carbon, and water reduction goals.
Per the brand standard, all energy and water data must be entered into MESH and all sustainability initiatives recorded in the SRO Tracker. For additional information regarding MESH, visit MGS. Please direct any questions on the MESH program to MESHSupport@ems.schneider-electric.com.
