Hotel Action Recommended: Review Virtual Credit Card (VCC) Transaction Procedures
This information was shared with hotels via the Aug. 11 Weekly Update and a reminder will be shared via the Nov. 3 Weekly Update.
Franchise Management Companies | Virtual Credit Card (VCC) payment, or the use of a one-time virtual credit number, is a growing form of acceptable payment. While accepting these payments is at the discretion of each hotel, some customers will increasingly not work with hotels that decline to accept VCCs, which could lead to loss of business from key account bookings.
In order to more effectively process VCC transactions, hotels that elect to accept VCC payments should review the guidance – including procedures, best practices and FAQs – available on MGS, and update their standard operating procedures as appropriate.
To avoid frustration from guests and key accounts, hotels that accept VCCs should fully understand how to properly execute VCC payments on property. Specifically, note guests paying with VCCs are not required to complete hotel-specific authorization forms (e.g. Sertifi forms).
Please encourage the Revenue Management, Front Office and Finance teams at your hotels to review the documentation and implement procedures to ensure a smooth guest experience for VCC transactions.
