Prepare for New Secure BlueZone Access Portal and Ensure Registration for Two-Step Verification
This information will be communicated to hotels via the Nov. 25 Weekly Update.
Franchise Management Companies | As part of the overall prioritization of security enhancement initiatives across Marriott International, starting Jan. 15, 2020, Two-Step Verification and a device security scan will be required to access the BlueZone portal.
The BlueZone Portal provides access to applications including MARSHA, CTAC, Rewards, One Yield/Total Yield, OSCAR, and OMNI. A new portal – Secure BlueZone Access (SBA) – was launched on Nov. 20, featuring a device security scan and Two-Step Verification, to ensure all devices and users on the Marriott network are authorized and secure.
Starting Jan. 15, 2020, external users (i.e., those accessing these applications from outside the Marriott network and/or from a non-Marriott PC) will be required to use the new SBA Portal. Two-Step Verification requires that after you enter your EID and password, you enter a second verification code when logging into certain Marriott systems. The security scan will be checking for malware, current anti-virus software, and system requirements compliance.
In order to ensure you and/or your on-property associates do not lose access to MARSHA, CTAC, Rewards, One Yield/Total Yield, OSCAR, and/or OMNI when the current BlueZone Portal is disabled on Jan. 15, we ask that you take the following steps:
- Visit the Registration Portal to select a Two-Step Verification method. Note: Associates that have already registered for or use Two-Step Verification to access sites like Sertifi and Microsoft Office 365 do not need to register again and the previously selected method will remain as the method for any new applications requiring Two-Step. Once a selection is made, you can change to a different method using the same portal.
- Confirm your internet browser/Java settings meet the minimum requirements for the security scan to run. Instructions can be found in the FAQs on the MGS page, along with additional information about the security scan.
- Access the new Secure BlueZone Access (SBA) Portal and ensure you are able to run the security scan and receive your 2-Step Verification code. Note: The current BlueZone Portal access link will be disabled on Jan. 15, at which point all users will be required to use the new SBA Portal link. Users will be logged out of the new portal after 30 minutes of inactivity.
- Users whose devices do not pass the security scan will receive a warning with recommendations on how to bring their device into compliance. Users may be unable to access the Marriott network if they fail the device scan beginning Jan. 31, 2020. Note: devices that do not pass the scan due to malware will be blocked at the time of the scan.
