Update: Microsoft to End Support for Windows Server 2008 Operating System in January 2020

As previously communicated, Microsoft will end support for the Windows Server 2008 operating system during January 2020. In preparation for this deadline and to ensure the security of the Marriott computing environment, in order to maintain connectivity with the Marriott network beyond Jan. 30, 2020, properties that have not already upgraded their servers to a supported operating system will need to complete the following:

Upgrade to Windows Server 2012 or 2016 by Dec. 31, 2019, if possible, or
Purchase Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Extended Support through Marriott’s Insight eProcurement portal by Dec. 14, 2019.

Servers still on Server 2008 that have not purchased Extended Support are planned to be blocked from the Marriott network beginning January 30, 2020. Should you have any questions or need additional information, visit MGS.
