This webinar covered COVID-19 updates and resources, including:

Sales, Marketing and Revenue Management Updates

Topline Trends

  1. Fewer consumers plan to travel during the holiday season
  2. Vaccine candidates are nearing a decision and teams should strategize how to capture leisure travelers
  3. Member Week drove significant traffic and bookings

Day Pass, Stay Pass, and Play Pass Packages

The Three Ways to Work Anywhere with Marriott Bonvoy packages officially launched this week:

  • A new Landing Page (workanywhere.Marriott.com) and supporting resources are available.
  • For hotels offering Stay Pass packages, review the Process for Suite Night Awards on a Stay Pass Reservation to understand best practices when Marriott Bonvoy members select a Suite Night Award on a Stay Pass reservation.
  • Ensure hotels within your portfolio are aware of the FAQs, Sales Flyers, Marketing Toolkit, and Revenue Management Guidance on the Marriott Bonvoy Day Pass, Stay Pass and Play Pass MGS page.

Cyber Week Promotion

The US & Canada Cyber Week promotional sale is scheduled for Nov. 24-30. Details, including an opt-out survey, will be emailed to HPP contacts the week of Nov. 9. Marketing support will include email marketing, paid social media, placement on M.com, and public relations support at no additional cost.

Ensure all hotels in your portfolio have updated HPP contacts to ensure they receive the email with details.

Explore More

The Explore More rates open Nov. 3 for stays Nov. 23, 2020 – Jan. 18, 2021. The rate is 15% below the Explore Rate, available to the associate only (no family members). It is a 2% cap, only open when the hotel is below 85% occupancy.

Rates will be centrally loaded; Revenue Managers need to validate after 11/3 and confirm New Years Eve Strategy. NYE rates will be blacked-out; hotels can remove the blackout, if desired.

Group Intermediary Demand Generation Initiative

Marriott International instituted a $1.00 (USD) per room night charge for all hotels in the US & Canada for all booked leads from Global Sales and National Group Sales deployed intermediary accounts.

  • Collected charges allow Marriott to activate strategic demand generation activities driving group business across the growing portfolio in the U.S. and Canada while maintaining the group commission policy (7%).
  • The $1.00 per room night charge is noted at time of booking and collected via a monthly invoice process and is not refund eligible.

Review the additional intermediary group partner page on MGS.

Operations Updates

  • Ensure hotels complete the October Commitment to Clean Certification by 5 p.m. ET on Oct. 31.
  • Have hotels implement new minimum F&B requirements for all brand tiers by Nov. 1.
    • This will be included in the monthly Commitment to Clean Certification beginning with the November certification. Resources available on the Americas Reopening & Recovery Resources page, in the F&B table in the Operations section. Questions? Ask.Ops@marriott.com.
  • Utilize resources for any troubleshooting directions and proper use procedures for Electrostatic Sprayers
    • Canadian Hotels: Electrostatic sprayer backpacks should NOT be used until approval from Health Canada

mHUB

mHUB is a smart, simplified and secure tool that integrates digital learning and Explore discounts. mHUB launches on Dec. 26 and will replace myPDR.

Key benefits include:

  • Simplified learning and reporting to measure and track employee progress
  • Secure Explore discount experience
  • Availability in 15 languages – enhances accessibility
  • Mobile-enabled for simple, easy access on the go
  • Enhanced data security through cloud-based technology

With mHUB, franchise associates will receive simplified learning access for all associates and a more seamless experience for your learning coordinators. Learning in mHUB replaces myLearning as Marriott’s new Learning Management System. Learning Coordinators gain access to Learning in mHUB or learning administrator functionality in 15 languages and allows them to seamlessly manage learning, from the creation of offerings to reporting, for their properties from a centralized platform.

To ensure a smooth conversion, there will be a transition period where both the “existing” and “new” documentation will be accepted (as long as the document hasn’t expired). Broad communications and training will ensure locations are prepared and associates are aware of how to use Explore in mHUB.

  • Now until Dec. 24 at 1:00pm ET, associates and friends and family will have access to cards/forms via myPDR. Those documents will continue to be accepted and will expire no later than Jan. 22, 2021.
  • Dec. 26 – Jan. 22, 2021: Both the “existing” as well as the “new” documentation will be accepted as long as they haven’t reached their expiration date.
  • Jan. 23, 2021 – Forward: Only “new” cards and forms will be accepted. The new documentation is being designed now, however, the forms, for both associates and friends and family will look similar to the current friends and family form.
  • EXCEPTION: Marriott International associates who accepted the Voluntary Transition Program (VTP) will continue to use the “existing” Authorization Form until Dec.31, 2021.
  • The Explore tools can be accessed once the associate logs into mHUB.

Hotels received the Land-It tasklist on Oct. 19. The next task is to identify a Location Leader to drive mHUB implementation. Hotels must submit the Coach name in Land-It by Oct. 30.
