  1. Intent to travel is consistent, however flexibility remains key as uncertainties rise due to a resurgence of COVID-19 cases.
  2. Canada’s resident sentiment by province, both as it relates to “I feel safe to travel” and “level of welcome towards visitors” is holding stable week-over-week, with 1 providence reporting increases (British Columbia) and only 3 reporting decreases (Ontario, Manitoba, Quebec).

Marriott Wholesaler Program Update

Marriott Wholesaler Program Refresher

  • Launched in 2016.
  • “Long-tail” solution designed to serve small leisure agents.
  • Removes need for on-property agreements. Dynamic feed.
  • Requires approved “N” number to access wholesale inventory.
  • Average margin ~20%. Hotels can flex.
  • Booking engine powered by Sabre Hospitality Solutions.
  • Global net revenue:
    • 2019 – $9.6m
    • 2020 – $4.2m
    • 2021 – $3.1m through July 31
  • Program will sunset on Oct. 31, 2021. For more details see MGS.

Next Steps – Minimal Property Level Action Required:

  • Rate Plans:
    • No new rate plans required.
    • EPS TAAP will utilize existing Wholesale Direct Connect, Expedia Retail and Expedia Bundled rate plans. 
  • Operator Communication:
    • No hotel outreach needed, but reactive talking points provided.
    • Operators will be emailed directly by Dynamic Wholesale Helpdesk and messaging posted to MarriottWholesalers.com.
  • EPS TAAP Application Queries:
    • After 72 hours from application submission, if no approval provided, an operator may inquire about the status of their EPS TAAP application by contacting support@expedia-agents.com.
  • Optimize EPS Setup:
