GPMS Deployment Update – October 2015

GPMS Deployment On Hold

Due to instability issues in the GPMS data centers, we are halting further GPMS deployments until we can fully identify the issues and implement a stable GPMS platform.

Marriott and Oracle executive teams are actively engaged in developing a swift remediation plan. Once that plan is successfully implemented, we will resume the GPMS deployment.

Update for Hotels Live on GPMS

We currently have 35 SS/ES hotels live on GPMS and experiencing challenges. Moving forward, we will have dedicated resources charged with providing elevated support to these hotels to ensure responsiveness to issues and system stability. Additionally, we will continue to conduct weekly GPMS calls with these hotels to uncover any issues and share best practices.

Timeline

  • Effective immediately, all SS/ES conversions are halted.
  • Full Service BETA conversions, which were originally scheduled to begin in November 2015, will now begin in 2016 (specific timing TBD).
  • New property openings and conversions will continue to install FOSSE, FS PMS, and property-based Opera until further notice.
  • An updated GPMS deployment schedule will be published on MGS once the assessment is completed and resolution timeframe is established.

Budget Information

As part of the 2016 budget instructions, a GPMS rollout schedule was provided to hotels. As a result of the GPMS rollout halt, the 2016 rollout schedule will be revised and will be published once the remediation plan is complete; impacted hotels will need to update their 2016 budgets accordingly.
