Operations Alert: Special Considerations Following Flooding in South Carolina
Franchisees | With the unprecedented rain and flooding throughout much of South Carolina, the safety and security of associates and guests are of the utmost importance. We appreciate the efforts put forth by hotels to take care of their associates and guests under what could be stressful conditions.
Due to these extraordinary circumstances, many families have been displaced from their homes. We encourage hotels to be empathetic during what are certainly difficult times for those affected and consider leniency with some of Marriott International’s policies. Hotels that do not allow pets may consider waiving this policy and allowing guests to bring their pets into the hotel, as appropriate. Also, for the time being, hotels may wish to consider waiving charges for last-minute cancellations.
As a reminder, hotels should use the Online Property Status Update Tool to update their status each time circumstances change in the event their business operations have been interrupted due to flooding.
