Updates to ‘Global Guideline for the Selection and Hiring of Employees Between Marriott and Its Franchisees’


Franchisees | Effective immediately, the Global Guideline for the Selection and Hiring of Employees Between Marriott and Its Franchisees (EMP-15) has been updated to eliminate the requirement for employees to obtain supervisor approval prior to interviewing for positions resulting in a switch between franchised and Marriott-managed properties. Prior to this change, current employees of a Marriott franchisee were required to advise their supervisor of their interest prior to interviewing for a position with a Marriott-managed location. Likewise, current employees of Marriott were required to advise their supervisor of their interest prior to interviewing for a position with a Marriott franchisee. 

This update should help to promote flexible career growth for Marriott and Franchise associates. However, it in no way changes the established protocol of Marriott International or our Franchise partners prohibiting solicitation of managers from either entity.

This change will be communicated to hotels via the October 5 Weekly Update.
