Book Direct Promotions Update


As part of Marriott’s ongoing efforts to drive direct channel booking preference, we have several promotional initiatives underway to motivate customers that have demonstrated a high propensity to book through an intermediary to instead book through a Marriott direct channel.

  • Marriott Rewards recently launched the “Activation” and “Book Direct” promotions, which target existing Rewards members who have made one or more non-direct channel stays within the past 12 months with two distinct bonus point offers. The primary objective of these promotions is to change member behavior and encourage direct bookings. More details regarding these promotions are available on MGS.
  • Beginning December 7, Marriott will also be launching a Rewards promotion targeting potential new Rewards members who demonstrate a high propensity of shopping through an intermediary. More details regarding this promotion are available on MGS.
    • Action Required of Hotels: An email from “Promotions – High Performance Pricing” will be sent to the designated hotel HPP contact(s) with instructions to review the rate solicitation in HPP. Hotels will be responsible for reviewing the pre-populated rate entity details and adjusting, if necessary, based on the retail rate setup for their hotel. All property-level associates will receive notification of this promotion via the November 30 Weekly Update. The offer will then be direct published on behalf of properties on December 7, 2015.
