Property Internet Brand Standards for Delta Hotels
Brand Standards for Delta Hotels
The Property Internet Brand Standards, which currently apply to all properties in the U.S. & Canada (excluding Gaylord Hotels), have recently been updated to include Delta Hotels. Delta Hotels properties will be required to implement these standards by December 31, 2017 as the standards will be included on the Brand Standards Audit (BSA) beginning in 2018. Hotels must:
- Provide wireless coverage, as specified in the GPNS requirement documents, for Internet access in all guest rooms, public spaces and meeting rooms.
- Meet or exceed minimum bandwidth requirements, based on hotel size.
- Use a Marriott International certified provider to deliver Internet access.
Background
Guests expect fast and reliable Internet access every time they check in to a Marriott-branded hotel. In order to meet this expectation, as well as to better position our hotels to meet future guest demands for Internet access, Marriott developed a comprehensive Property Internet strategy. This strategy requires compliance with Marriott’s Property Internet Brand Standards, which are a critical component of our overall guest services and technology strategy. These standards enable a consistent guest experience, tiered Internet access, a branded login process, and a stable platform for future programs.
The Property Internet Brand Standards require that hotels use a Marriott International certified provider to deliver on-property Internet access. These certified providers adhere to Marriott’s Global Property Network Standards (GPNS), which have been proven to provide a more reliable infrastructure and deliver higher guest satisfaction scores.
Resources & Next Steps
Moving forward, hotels should not sign contracts for Property Internet services unless with an approved GPNS vendor. Review the full standard for details and the complete set of requirements. Additional information about Marriott’s Property Internet Strategy can be found on MGS.
