BT Referral Cost Billing Update
As previously communicated, beginning in 2017, hotels in the U.S. & Canada that do not participate in Marriott’s U.S. Area Sales Organization will be charged an annual BT Booking Cost. This will allow Marriott to effectively resource the Area Sales organization to meet growing demand and sell to customers across the entire Marriott portfolio. There will be three tiers of production, as shown below.*
Tier 1 | 0-400 room nights | $1,300 ($108.33/month) |
Tier 2 | 401-1,300 room nights | $2,200 ($183.33/month) |
Tier 3 | 1,301+ room nights | $3,100 ($258.33/month) |
* One year of actual production will be used to determine which tier and associated cost the hotel will incur; for 2017, this includes Dec. 25, 2015 – Dec. 24, 2016.
We wanted to inform you that, due to a billing error, the first monthly charge for the 2017 BT Booking Cost was included in the January 2, 2017 OFB invoice. As the result of this premature processing of BT Referral Cost file, charges were inadvertently posted to hotels for 2016 instead of 2017.
To correct for this issue, hotels will not see a monthly charge on their February 2 OFB invoice; instead, hotels will see the next monthly charge on their March 2 OFB invoice. This will result in a total of 11 invoices for 2017.
We appreciate your patience and support of this new process.
