MESH Platform to Replace Green Hotels Global (GHG)

More information required to support the deployment will be provided to your hotels via the June 5 Weekly Update.

Marriott International has reached an agreement with Schneider Electric to implement a common utility platform across the entire Marriott International portfolio. The Marriott Environmental Sustainability Hub (MESH) will replace Green Hotels Global (GHG) with an enterprise-wide platform. The cloud-based hub will provide increased capabilities to track, analyze, and report usage and spend for energy, water, waste, and carbon globally while providing opportunities for cost savings for individual hotels.

Based on the new agreement, the brand standard will be updated effective July 2017 to reflect these changes.

MESH will provide improved capabilities for above-property consolidation of utility usage across the portfolio which will be used by sustainability, sales, design and development, engineering, and corporate social responsibility teams to communicate progress around Marriott sustainability goals to both internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, MESH will enable engineers to monitor and identify inefficient operations and drive cost savings on utility usage more quickly. The tool will also aid in the evaluation of alternative energy opportunities.

The Year 1 cost for implementing MESH is comparable to the current utility platform and is included in this year’s budget instructions. Over the next four years, hotels will start to experience savings over the current platform with some properties experiencing annual savings of 20% or more by Year 4.
