Electronic Receipt (eFolio) Functionality

This information will be shared with GMs via the September 18 edition (franchise) and October 2 edition (Managed by Marriott) of the Weekly Update, and additional eFolio information will continue to be shared with GMs in forthcoming Weekly Updates.

Following a successful proof of concept, beginning December 5, 2017, new electronic receipt (eFolio) functionality will be activated for hotels which currently use FOSSE & FSPMS. This change involves providing an electronic preview of cumulative charges for the guest stay prior to departure, as well as an electronic copy of the final charges for the stay almost immediately following check-out, allowing for improved delivery based on guest checkout needs. All guests with an email address included in the reservation will be enrolled to receive the electronic receipt automatically. Hotels are not required to take action in order to enable these changes to take place. There is no cost for these enhancements, and Marriott anticipates potential cost savings due to reduced office supplies.

Newly-enhanced and automated features will be tested beginning in October, prior to the continent-wide activation on December 5.  FSPMS hotels will be contacted through their PMS system regarding a  brief PMS outage, which will take place via a waved approach between October – November, before full deployment on December 5. After this time, all folios will print on 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper for guests who request a hard copy.  FSPMS hotels which currently use smaller, executive-sized paper, should begin exhausting inventory of executive-sized folio paper in anticipation of the eFolio launch. Managed by Marriott (MxM) properties will be contacted directly by Marriott’s IT team, and franchise management companies are encouraged to review these changes with their appropriate IT teams, in order to ensure hotels are prepared with correct printer specifications.
