Marriott Hotels Fitness Center Brand Standard Update
As Marriott Hotels continues its journey to transform hotels and delight the premium modern traveler, the brand team would like to announce the launch of the new Marriott Hotels Fitness Center brand standard.
The Marriott Hotels target guest is a traveler who demands a premium experience, and that includes a high-quality fitness experience. Guest feedback has shown that a property’s fitness center influences the buying decision, making that experience a key proof point for the brand. With four successful proof-of-concept hotels seeing an average increase of 29% to their fitness satisfaction scores, plus strong feedback directly from guests, we are confident in this strategy to elevate the Fitness Center.
The new MH Fitness standard will:
- Elevate the guest experience by increasing space, enhancing design, providing direct natural light, and providing upgraded equipment
- Activate the MH Fitness space and drive guest engagement via a new visual identity
- Elevate the amenities in the fitness center with hydration stations
- Provide variety with Fitness on Demand
- Support associates with new tools to help them socialize Fitness
- Enable Sales & Marketing teams to promote Fitness as another proof point for the brand
As part of the standard, hotels will implement these updates upon their next scheduled softgoods or casegoods renovation. We understand that some hotels may be particularly challenged to achieve the new size and direct natural light requirement, given that space is at a premium. We will provide the opportunity for exception submissions in accordance with Marriott Renovation Program process supported by AVPs, COOs, and Brand and Global Design teams today. We are committed to partnering with owners to help achieve the new standard while being reasonably flexible given property constraints.
