Former Starwood Brand and Corporate Emails Migrating to Marriott Cloud Environment

Beginning in April and going until December 2018, Starwood brand and corporate emails will migrate to the Marriott cloud environment. This is a key step towards integrating the company’s collaboration tools and will result in one Global Address List for all associates. Associates will receive an email notification 10, 5 and 1 business day prior to their specific migration date containing instructions for accessing email and other applications after migration, as well as steps to take in the event that users would like to order new business cards.

During the brand email migration, brand domains will temporarily change but will revert back to the original email address once the entire brand has migrated. We do not anticipate that there will be a loss of emails due to this temporary change. After the migration, @starwoodhotels.com email addresses will become firstname.lastname@marriott.com email addresses, with the former email address automatically forwarding emails to the new address for 3 to 4 weeks. After this time period, the firstname.lastname@marriott.com email address will be the new address moving forward.

Starwood email users should prepare their mailbox for migration, as Marriott’s Enterprise Records Management policy will go into effect immediately upon migration. All messages older than one year will be automatically deleted from Outlook on a daily, rolling basis. To ensure emails with an ongoing business need are not deleted before migration, Marriott recommends archiving those business-critical emails which are dated 10 months and older, prior to the migration date.
