Americas’ 2019 Revenue Strategy: Special Corporate Pricing & SPG Business

Franchise Management Companies | As your hotels begin developing their 2019 revenue strategies and preparing for pricing season, we wanted to share updates to help you stay informed:

Special Corporate Pricing

Special corporate pricing is a vital segment that requires clear focus and direction in order to capture the most profitable business. MarRFP opens for Pricing Season on June 18, and in preparation, hotels have been encouraged to:

  • Complete the MarRFP General Pricing screens and begin work in the Account Management Tool (AMT) and Special Corporate Pricing Tool (SCPT) before pricing season begins in early July.
  • Review individual 15-minute GSO account overview videos, which guide hotels on how to activate each segment of their business and effectively support the largest GSO partner accounts throughout the RFP season.
  • Follow the Special Corporate Pricing & Budgeting Resources and Pricing & Account Services (PAS) pages on MGS for the latest tools, updates and resources.

SPG Business

As hotels prepare for Special Corporate Pricing Season, we also want to inform you that SPG Business, SPG’s corporate transient sales program for small to mid-size companies will sunset on December 31, 2018. As part of integration, we have closely reviewed our Loyalty programs, Marriott Rewards, The Ritz-Carlton Rewards, and Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG), to ensure we bring the value of our full portfolio to customers, hotels, owners and franchisees. Within this review, we’ve also been evaluating specific tools and resources such as SPG Business. The results showed that the current program is not fully achieving the goals of members or hotels, and therefore the program will be retired. SPG Business Member Company employees that have Corporate Preferred Guest status will automatically receive Silver Elite status and its many benefits; we also encourage all SPG Business Member Company employees to become SPG program members. SPG Business Member Companies will be notified of the program retirement date during the week of June 25. Moving forward, we will keep you informed of any future business program offerings.

Franchise management company sales and revenue leaders are encouraged register for the June 22 Management Company Webinar for a high-level overview of industry and market trends, important process updates, and resources and tools to help your hotels drive results.
