Autograph Collection Sustainable Green Choice Launch

This information will be shared with hotels via the July 16 Weekly Update.

Autograph Collection Hotels now have the option to implement a sustainable green choice program, similar to Make a Green Choice, which will be exclusive to the Autograph Collection brand. Similar to other Marriott green programs, guests will have the opportunity to skip housekeeping service while reducing the environmental footprint in exchange for Marriott Rewards points. Furthermore, the program will allow for Autograph hotels to continue their focus on bringing their individual hotel identities to life. The Americas-wide opt-in will become available via Land-it to applicable Autograph Collection hotels on July 16.

Make a Green Choice (and similar Marriott green programs) is active in over 1900 hotels across 20 brands with an average of 4.2 million room nights participating in 2017. Make a Green Choice provides a framework of essential program norms that help hotels conserve environmental resources and maximize workforce deployment. Autograph Collection Hotels will have flexibility within this framework to differentiate from traditional brands based on their individual brand identity.

Program Requirements

  1. PARTICIPATION RULES – To maintain global safety and security guidelines for guest safety and asset protection, the systems are set to allow for three consecutive days and a full room clean assigned for the fourth day.
  2. MINIMUM POINTS OPTION – To remain consistent from a guest perception of value for housekeeping opt-out in full service hotels, 500 points should be a minimum offering. Other choices may be used alongside points (ie. plant a tree, F&B credit)
  3. DND DISCLAIMER – To remain consistent, any program collateral must include the Marriott International Global Do Not Disturb (DND) policy disclaimer.
  4. REPORTING NORMS – A standard reporting approach is critical to maintain program performance. To maintain consistent reporting across multiple brands and multiple programs, it is important that a consistent take rate percentage is reported out monthly (Managed by Marriott hotels only)
