Security Reminder for Fusebox Users
Given the ever-present risk of cyber-attacks around the world, particularly those targeting payment and credit card processing systems, we would like to reiterate the following important best practices relevant to active Fusebox users.
Phishing Scams
Users on and above-property should be alert for ‘phishing’ scams asking for your username or password, or asking you to click on a link or open an attachment. Phishing refers to fake email messages which are designed to trick the recipient into sharing their credentials with fraudsters or clicking on a malicious link that appears to come from a legitimate source. Visit MGS for tips on avoiding issues related to phishing scams. If you think you may have been the victim of a phishing scam, contact phishing@marriott.com immediately. Passwords
When creating a password, we recommend the following guidelines in order to ensure your information is safely password-protected:
- Use a strong password (using letters, numbers, and symbols and avoiding personal information and common words).
- Never share your password.
- Never write down your password.
- Never email your password (to yourself or anyone else).
Fusebox Property Level Administrators (PLAs)
In order to ensure you and your team(s) utilize Fusebox safely and securely, all Fusebox Property Level Administrators must:
- Ensure that all associates adopt strong passwords.
- Remove access for any former associates immediately.
- Remove access for any current associates who no longer require access.
- Ensure that associates do not have more permissions than they need to perform their job functions (i.e. there should be a presumption against providing administrative privileges to users).
- Conduct regular audits (at least quarterly) to ensure continued compliance with the guidance above.
