mCredit Becoming Available to SPG Hotels


This information will be provided to hotels via the December 3 edition of the Weekly Update.

Owners and Franchisees of SPG Hotels | Prior to integration, SPG hotels have been utilizing a subscription-based credit model/risk assessment solution provided by Dun & Bradstreet (DNBi) to perform real-time direct bill credit inquiries. As you may know, the contract currently in place with DNBi is set to expire at the end of 2018. As such, mCredit, Marriott’s in-house credit model/risk assessment solution, is becoming available to SPG hotels. Hotels will be receiving guidance within the December 3 edition of the Weekly Update on how to request access, and can begin using mCredit as soon as access is granted.

mCredit allows clients to view accounts receivable data and assess a customer’s willingness and ability to pay based on past payment performance and provides Marriott lodging payment history for the last six months and life-to-date. mCredit is currently available and in use at franchise Marriott Rewards hotels in North America and offers the following benefits:

  • Ability to “Opt-In” and pay per use (as opposed to possibly overpaying based on usage with former DNBi solution)
  • Seamless customer experience to reduce unnecessary customer data requests from customers/guests
  • Robust and proprietary customer database with over 110,000 account records (and growing by ~600 per month)
  • Industry- specific results
  • Credit review platform consistent with entire Marriott system
