Enhanced Reservation Solution (ERS) – 2019 Rollout

Franchise Management Companies of Full Service Marriott Rewards Hotels | As communicated in October, we are continuing deployment of the Enhanced Reservation Solution (ERS) in the upcoming weeks and months in 2019 to approximately 2,080 hotels globally with FSPMS, Lightspeed and Opera PMS systems.

Additionally, there are now over 800 hotels live on ERS. While it’s too soon to share results for all hotels, year-to-date, the first 222 hotels have generated more than $9.1M in revenue related to room attributes, of which approximately $4.7M is incremental (retail and member rates only).

ERS Activation rollout involves validating, setting up and pricing specific attributes for each room type that hotels will be selling through ERS. Tasks will also include updating PMS, RM systems, and digital content with new room/attribute photography and content standards. Hotels must complete two prerequisites* prior to beginning the ERS Activation rollout:

  • Prerequisite: ERS Photography – Involves walking guest rooms to validate attributes, developing a “Shot List” to schedule a photoshoot, then completing the photoshoot and submitting photos.
    • All hotels need to complete this step.
  • Prerequisite: Bed Type Conversion (BTC) – Rooms must be broken out by distinct bed types prior to ERS Activation and this step involves the planning, creation, and configuring of new room types.
    • Some hotels have already completed this step; however, it is a prerequisite for all remaining hotels.

Each effort above will be coordinated and managed by the Marriott ERS team with specific tasks detailed for hotel teams.

Next Steps:

See the Rollout Schedule for participating hotels in early Q1 2019, along with their respective start and completion dates.

To prepare for rollout, hotels should review MGS for more information about ERS Photography, Bed Type Conversion, and ERS Activation rollout activities, along with coach/team selection, training and other resources.

Prior to each wave, direct communication will be sent to property leaders and the mi360 RUNDOWN will include an updated Rollout Schedule with participating hotels before the designated rollout wave.

*One Yield version 2 is also a prerequisite to ERS. All hotels in the 2019 Rollout are live on One Yield version 2.
