Simphony Beverage Reporting Updates
This information will be communicated to hotels in the U.S. and Canada via the January 28 Weekly Update.
Franchise Management Companies of SPG Hotels | To align with Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI) guidance, the following clarifications have been made with regards to moving non-alcoholic beverage reporting to “Food”, as well as the following changes:
- In February, enterprise-wide changes will be made to hosted Simphony to add three new major groups (beer, wine, liquor)
- The changes will be made automatically, and menu items class levels will be adjusted to reflect the changes (hotels will be provided instructions within the Weekly Update in order to make the menu item adjustments on-property)
- Beer, wine and liquor sale reporting will be aligned for Managed by Marriott (MxM) hotels to enhance above-property reporting
Following these changes, there will be an impact on the EMC major and family group changes in MyMicros reporting. We recommend properties who are on hosted Simphony or an alternate POS system to manually align their systems to mirror these changes to follow USALI guidance.
