Hotwire: An Approved Channel for Marriott International
Marriott has entered into an agreement with Hotwire to help hotels drive sales of distressed inventory within clearly-defined central revenue management controls. Hotwire is Expedia’s opaque channel where the identity of the hotel is not disclosed until the consumer makes a non-refundable payment of room and tax.
Legacy Marriott Rewards hotels: Participation will be open to legacy Marriott Rewards hotels that wish to opt-in. Revenue managers of legacy Marriott Rewards hotels should review the Hotwire Participation Requirements and complete the necessary steps to join the program by May 28, 2019.
Legacy SPG hotels: Hotels participating on Hotwire today will be able to opt-in and transition to the new agreement terms and rate structure. The ability to opt-into the new agreement and details will be shared once available. Legacy SPG hotels already participating on Hotwire should take no further action at this time and continue to follow existing Hotwire Rate Loading Guidelines.
