Make a Green Choice (MAGC) Update | June 2019
As of July 19, Make a Green Choice (MAGC), the guest-facing sustainability and loyalty program that enables guests to skip housekeeping service and reduce our environmental footprint in exchange for Marriott Bonvoy points or planting a tree (The Arbor Day or WEARTH), will now carry a requirement of offering a sustainability option at Autograph Collection, JW Marriott, Marriott Hotels, and Renaissance hotels which participate in MAGC.
- AC Hotels in the U.S. and Canada now have the option to implement “Make a Green Choice”, with the continent-wide opt-in becoming available via Land-it on June 17, 2019.
- JW, MH, RH, AUTO, DH, GH | All hotels currently planting trees as part of the MAGC program will be activated to receive GXP cases for MAGC opt-ins for the tree planting option in addition to the Marriott Bonvoy points offer. For hotels that do not have this option, this will not be available until the tree planting option is activated, at which time the mobile option will be activated.
- Newly enhanced and automated features will be tested for FOSSE users beginning in Q3 2019 with a full MAGC FOSSE deployment expected by year end.
As a reminder, the objective of MAGC is to provide guests staying a minimum of 2 nights the opportunity to personalize the stay and opt into a green program. We anticipate that this program will better align and deliver upon the needs of our target guests.
