Launch of Element Rest Program

This information will be communicated to hotels via the October 20 version of the Weekly Update.

As the Element brand continues its growth strategy, developing wellness-focused touchpoints for the guest journey is critical to bringing the brand positioning to life. Element believes everyone deserves to be well – no matter who they are – where they come from, or how long they’re away from home. In order to deliver on the wellness pillar for guests, the Element Rest program launches on Oct. 18, 2019. The program, piloted earlier this year, provides guests with three new touchpoints including Arrival, Evening Ritual and Rest.

  • Arrival – to instantly transmit a sense of calm upon arrival
    • A glass of iced, infused water invites guests to rehydrate.
    • Fresh, organic apples provide guests with a healthy welcome snack.
    • Scented moist towels and paper card handed to guests along with their keycard, help wash away the stress of travel.
  • Evening Ritual – An evening ritual reminds guests of the routines of home, signaling time to unwind and decompress.
    • A trolley cart with tea pots and jars of loose leaf tea offers guests the opportunity to learn and enjoy the restful benefits of each selection.
  • Rest – A restful turndown provides a welcoming, cozy and warm environment for new guests entering the room.
    • Drawn curtains/blinds create an environment that promotes the sense of being cocooned.
    • Lights set to ‘cozy’ help give a more home-like feel.
    • A subtle sprayed scent promotes a pleasant and calming atmosphere.
    • A rest hints & tips card provides guests with tips to get the best rest during their stay.

More information on the Element Rest program is available on MGS.

The Element Rest program will become a brand standard on Jan. 1, 2020, and will be included on the BSA beginning July 2020. Properties were notified of this program and were asked to allocate $2,500 CapEx for 2019.

Encourage your hotel(s) to participate in the upcoming kick-off webinar, which will walk properties through the Element Rest Tool Kit that includes very detailed implementation and order guides.
