October 25 Franchise Management Company Webinar

Thank you for joining us on Friday, October 25 for the Franchise Management Company Webinar. If you were unable to join, a recorded version and a PDF of the presentation are now available (EID and password required).

In addition to the recorded version and PDF of the presentation, please also note the following resources:

  • GXP and Mobile Update
    • Above-Property GXP Reporting Current State:
      • Recommended Approach for Management Companies with fewer than 15 hotels:
        • Request access to GXP via Identity Center under one of the hotel’s MARSHA codes and then ask GXP Property Admin at all other hotels to add you as a user within GXP under their MARSHA code
        • Utilize reports and dashboards within GXP to view cumulative and individual property information (Job Aid)
        • Customize dashboards with filters for each MARSHA code
      • Recommended Approach for Management Companies with more than 15 hotels:
        • Review bi-weekly GXP Performance Report on MGS
        • Use filters (multi select by MARSHA) to view cumulative and individual scores for Metric 1, 2, and 3
    • Mobile Key will be enforced as a major capital improvement under the Marriott Accountability Program. Under the brand standard, all hotels must activate Mobile Key by January 1, 2021. Hotels not live with Mobile Key will go into the Red Zone in July 2021.
    • Hotels must plan one quarter to complete iT preparations and one quarter to install/activate Mobile Key. This timeline is designed to ensure hotels complete necessary preparations well in advance of any lock installation or activation. For hotels without iT resources capable of managing complex preparations with networks, cabling, and server readiness are encouraged to engage Datatrend, a third-party vendor, to complete these preparations and stay on track for go-live.
    • Available Resources include:
  • Group Intermediary/CTAC
    • U.S.- and Canada-based group intermediary partners are increasingly reporting that their eligible commission payments are late or inaccurate. Accurate and timely commission payments enable Marriott to maintain the loyalty of partners and ultimately book more of their business. If commitments are not met, group intermediaries could potentially decide to promote non-Marriott properties to their clients, negatively impacting sales.
    • Above- and on-property associates have received a direct communication reminding them of the importance of following the appropriate steps to pay group intermediaries:
      • Correctly Enter the IATA Number into the Sales System
      • Enter the IATA Number into the Mini-Hotel
      • Review and Approve Batches
      • Perform Monthly Group Commission Audit
      • Monitor System Communication Dashboard
      • Respond Timely to IPC Requests
    • Ensure your Sales, Reservations, Group Housing, and/or Event Management associates are following these procedures correctly and promptly.
    • Available Resources include:
  • FSPMS Unicorn and FOSSE GNS
    • Project Unicorn will bring resources together to create operational tools and solutions that complement hotel’s legacy property management systems. The Unicorn PMS Tool was released in October 2018 for full-service hotels using FSPMS. Unicorn is a tool that is used with FSPMS that reads from the screen and replicates keystrokes that the user could do, but much faster.
    • Available Resources include:
    • Guranteed no-show and Late Cancellation fees are now being collected automatically in FOSSE. This was done through an enhancement to the FOSSE application and will run by itself without the need for front desk teams to intervene.
    • These enhancements went live on October 14 and hotels began to see the posting of these fees on October 16.
    • Available Resources include:
  • Autograph Collection Ad Campaign
    • Autograph Collection has an opportunity to better market the collection as a whole, drive stronger awareness and comprehension of the brand. Autograph Collection will strategically leverage paid media as a tactic to help drive brand awareness and comprehension, rounding out other marketing efforts already in place.
    • The goal is to market the collection without losing the power of the individual hotels. The campaign is targeting key global source markets: U.S., Canada, and U.K.
    • The campaign went live in mid-September and will go through the end of 2019.

Legacy ResLink Direct and Legacy Rooming List to Retire

Effective Nov. 19, legacy ResLink Direct and legacy Rooming List applications will be retired and will no longer be available. ResLinks created using the legacy application will be automatically re-directed to new ResLink Direct. There will be no interruption for group guests to book into the group room block or for business transient guests to book at the special negotiated corporate rate.

While no action is needed by hotels to support this transition, associates still using the legacy applications should complete the training, review available support resources, and begin using the new ResLink Direct and Rooming List applications prior to Nov. 19.
