Topline Trends
- While many consumers are reluctant to travel in the current environment, traveling again remains a top desire with new behaviors and heightened expectations.
- Air travel and hotel search trends are mixed; several markets declined compared to 2 weeks ago but there are some notable increases.
- Average search visits were up 5.7% in the last 2 weeks vs. 4 weeks prior.
Revenue Management 2021 Training Webinar Series
The Revenue Management Field Support team will be hosting a monthly training webinar series on a variety of topics throughout the year. These sessions are optional and open to both managed & franchise hotels across all brands globally.
- Four identical sessions will be offered each month to allow for increased participation

- January’s session will be held Jan. 19 and Jan. 20 and will focus on re-enforcing Marriott’s Guiding principles on rationale pricing, proper benchmark positioning, and discount/channel strategies.

Fam-Tastic and Plan-Tastic Program Participation for 2021
The Fam-Tastic and Plan-Tastic rates are offered exclusively to Travel Advisors and Meeting Professionals who have successfully completed Marriott’s Hotel Excellence! and Meetings Excellence! training programs.
These rates must be booked exclusively through a link on the Hotel Excellence! and Meetings Excellence! websites and should not be booked directly with the hotel to ensure travel advisor/meeting professional eligibility at time of booking.
For information about rate rules, Revenue Management and Front Desk procedures, see Fam-Tastic and Plan-Tastic. Participation is highly encouraged for franchised properties as we continue to strengthen our relationship and loyalty with these partners.
Franchise hotels will automatically be participating unless they opt-out via iFAST by Jan. 29, 2021.
Global Account Directory
Global Account Directory now includes accounts deployed to the Above Property Sales Channels. The Directory provides results for team members deployed to an account and filters to find associates in your region, by business type or IATA. It replaces the Global Account Link which previously only housed US based sales associates.
Operations Updates
Mobile Key
Third-Party Project Management is required in 2021 for all hotels installing and activating Mobile Key per the budget instructions
Actions Needed for Hotels Not Live:
- Confirm the information listed on the Mobile Key Property Profile reflects current POC email, name, and lock status data. This can be completed by any property associate.
- Complete the Third-Party Support Form and return a signed quote to the selected vendor
Hotels should complete the third-party support requirement by Feb. 1 and refer to the one pager for questions related to Datatrend or Centrada.

Classic Select Brands | Review Updated Eligibility for Exterior Signage Subsidy •Given the financial impact of COVID-19, Marriott is broadening the availability of this subsidy program for owners. Renovation compliance is no longer a required component for subsidy eligibility. •Updated Eligibility Status is available now for review. •Additionally, subsidy program terms have been extended through Jan. 1, 2023. •Special pricing by approved suppliers will remain in place for the revised duration of the program. •CY Gen 1 and 2 hotels, please review MGS for additional information. |

Through Jan. 31, hotels that spend $200 or more on TripAdvisor Sponsored Placements via PLUS are eligible to receive a 20% rebate (up to $1,000) on their property spend. To take advantage of this promotion and add funds to your account, visit the MDS Client Community (MDS hotels) to submit a New Funding Form or deposit through the PLUS Platform directly or access marriottplusplatform.com (non-MDS hotels). |

Review 2021 Leisure Recovery Offers; Opt-In and Load Rate Codes by March 3 Refer to the Smartsheet form for a list of recommended offers and respective rate codes. Topline Teams should opt-in and ensure rates are loaded in HPP. Current offers are bookable through April 11 with stay dates through June 6, 2021 and will be supported by email marketing, paid social media, placement on marriott.com and public relations support at no additional cost. Hotels can use the opt-in survey through March 3 and will be added to marketing channels on the first Thursday of the following month. |
