Cross-Linking Enabled for Marriott.com and SPG.com
As we continue to focus on integration efforts, we’re taking the opportunity to leverage cross-selling across Marriott.com, SPG.com and Starwood brand websites. Launched in late April, this new feature enables cross-linking for “No Hotels in Location” and “No Availability in Location” scenarios*.
No Hotels in Location
Previously, Marriott.com and SPG.com did not allow searches for countries or cities where there are no hotels. Moving forward, nearly 400 countries, cities and airports will be added to the Marriott location database and nearly 550 countries, cities and airports will be added to the Starwood location database. Thus, a customer who might be searching for a hotel in the Maldives on Marriott.com (where there aren’t currently any properties in the legacy Marriott portfolio) will see a search option for SPG.com, where they can check availability at former Starwood-branded properties in the Maldives.
No Availability in Location
This new feature showcases the reach and full breadth of Marriott’s 30 brands while also enabling guests to book direct, and find the hotel they’re looking for. Similar to the “No Hotels in Location” feature, guests that cannot find availability at properties within their search parameters on Marriott.com will be given the option to search on SPG.com, and vice versa.
