- Global Point of Sale
Use Tools and Resources to Prepare Now for Special Corporate (SC) Pricing Season | An eLearning course will be available by June 19 to learn more about the SC Pricing Tool, Account Management Tool and various SC reports. Regional SC Pricing Process webinars will be held in late June and communicated by the regional teams.
Marriott Rewards 2017 Summer MegaBonus Promotion | Effective May 15 Marriott Rewards members and new enrollees are now eligible to participate in MegaBonus and earn 2,000 bonus points per stay beginning with the 2nd stay (no max). They can earn another 2,000 bonus points per stay if they visit a different brand, starting with the second brand. Review the 2017 Summer MegaBonus Overview (DOC).
Update Mobile Key Property Profile Page; US/Canada Deployment Resumes for MH, AC and Moxy
Mobile Key contracts have been negotiated with two lock vendors – Saflok (Dorma Kaba) and Assa Abloy (Ving). The new contracts contain both a software and hardware agreement with added liability and indemnification protections. The Mobile Key Lock Standard has been updated to include both vendors. Mobile Key deployment will now resume in US/Canada for MH, AC and Moxy. Hotels have been notified of the specific deployment details.
Global Point of Sale (GPOS) | GPOS project replaces the existing MICROS 3700 and 9700 systems due to hardware reaching its end-of-life, credit card security requirements imposed by the Payment Card Industry (PCI), and the expiration of Microsoft’s support for Windows operating systems. Microsoft will no longer provide security patches for XP, and can therefore no longer safeguard credit card information. GPOS/Simphony utilizes existing off-the-shelf POS technology that has been vetted to meet both Marriott and industry security requirements.
