Annual Fire Protection & Life Safety (FLS) Inspection Program
Beginning in 2018, former Starwood-branded Managed by Marriott (MxM) hotels will join Marriott’s Annual Fire Protection & Life Safety Inspection Program. This is required for MxM properties and includes testing of the automatic sprinkler system and fire alarm system, as well as the life safety audit. The program also includes on-site training, web-based reporting and development of a success plan. In most locations, the FLS inspections satisfy local requirements, therefore reducing the need for external vendors and resulting in overall cost savings. There is an annual fee associated with this program which is paid at the completion of inspection. The annual inspection may result in recommendations or requirements for modifications to meet Marriott’s FLS standards.
