November Monthly Integration Recap | SPG Hotels

Franchise Management Companies | Moving forward, we will continue to provide a monthly recap of the key changes shared with – and tasks asked of – SPG branded hotels related to the integration. We appreciate your support in ensuring your hotels remain informed and engaged throughout this process.

GMs and Change Champions at SPG hotels now receive weekly email content via The Check-In, and have the opportunity to participate in Check-In calls, which are held on Tuesdays at 1pm ET. Continue to email change.champions@marriott.com with any questions.

Senior Discount Program Replacing SPG AARP Program | Beginning in 2018, Marriott’s Senior Discount Program will be replacing AARP at SPG hotels. Key changes include a higher age threshold (62 for Senior Discount vs. 50 for AARP) as well as yieldability. The discounted room rate will be 15% off weekday and weekend retail rates. More details can be found in the Marriott Standard, RM Procedures, and FAQs.

Explore Rate Changes Coming Jan. 17, 2018 | Effective Jan. 17, 2018, we will launch harmonized Explore Rates for Marriott Rewards and SPG hotels. These new rates have been grouped by brand segment to provide consistency across Marriott’s 6,000+ properties worldwide. For details on Revenue Management business processes, including how Explore rates are established, visit the RM Processes MGS page. And, don’t forget, you can save even more during Explore More, Nov. 20 – Jan. 15. Download the updated flyer to share with associates. For SPG properties, visit www.starwoodhotels.com/exploreMM4; for Marriott Rewards properties, use code MM4 in the Corporate/Promotional box to book the Explore More rate.

SPG Uber Partnership to End After Dec. 17 | Properties should begin to remove all print and digital marketing related to the partnership and distribute remaining key packet inserts before Dec. 17, after which time they should be discontinued/discarded. Should you have any questions, contact uber.marketing@starwoodhotels.com.

SPG Hotels to Transition to the Marriott Owner & Franchise Billing (OFB) Process January 1 |  As part of migrating former Starwood financial operations to Marriott processes, Starwood franchised hotels globally will transition to Marriott’s OFB process. Like the current Starwood process, OFB facilitates the billing and collection of fees and the reimbursable cost of programs and services in which the hotels participate. Should you have any questions regarding the transition, please contact the Project Tetris team.

Complete Room Pool Validation Tool | On Nov. 15, Revenue Management contacts at SPG properties received a launch email indicating that they need to validate their room pool information and email back their completed Room Pool Validation Tool to RMIntegration@marriott.com by Dec. 15. If your Revenue Management team has not received the launch email contact RMIntegration@marriott.com.

SPG Hotels Will Migrate to PepsiCo and Should Review Details of 2017 Coca-Cola Rebate | Marriott International is renewing their partnership with PepsiCo for all Marriott brands and migrating SPG properties to PepsiCo. Tribute brand hotels will continue under their existing agreements in the near term. Hotels currently under Coca-Cola agreements will not be required to terminate these contracts early. These agreements will be re-evaluated at the time of expiration. If your hotel has a contract with Coca-Cola expiring this year, do not renew this contract since you will be converting to Pepsi beginning Jan. 1. Additionally, review details of the Coca-Cola and Dasani rebate distribution process, including timing for 2017 rebates, on MGS.
