Marriott International TakeCare Relief Fund
U.S. Only | The TakeCare Relief Fund, modeled after the Starwood Associate Relief Fund (SARF), offers need-based financial grants to associates at Managed by Marriott properties, and is sustained by voluntary donations from associates and their friends and family booking through the Explore or Explore Friends rate at participating hotels.
For stays at participating SPG hotels, the new TakeCare Relief Fund rate plans for both Explore and Explore Friends continue to be available for booking separately from the Explore and Explore Friends rates.
For stays at participating Marriott Rewards hotels, the TakeCare Relief Fund donation will be automatically included as an additional fee in both the Explore and Explore Friends rates; however, you may opt out by informing the front desk at any time during your stay.
Franchised Hotel Impact:
- SPG hotels: As previously communicated, franchised SPG hotels have the option to offer the TakeCare Relief Fund rate plans moving forward, but must continue to honor existing reservations made under STARHOTA and STARFRNA and follow the appropriate remittance process.
- Marriott Rewards hotels: there will be no impact unless a franchised property elects to participate in fundraising, in which case the property may complete an eFast request form (click ‘HWS Forms Submission Tool’ > ‘General HWS’) to have the donation fee added as an additional nightly fee to be charged on each reservation made at the Explore and Explore Friends rates. Hotels not wishing to participate do not need to take any action. In addition to opting in via eFast, franchised properties that elect to participate must follow the Marriott finance policy for tracking and remitting the donated funds on a monthly basis.
Note: Only associates at Managed by Marriott properties are eligible to apply for a grant. Additionally, the TakeCare Relief Fund will launch to Marriott Rewards hotels in Canada in 2018.
