Executive Excellence – Franchisee BSA/GSS Improvement Program Overview
Marriott Rewards MSB Franchise Management Companies | Marriott created the Executive Excellence suite of programs to support Marriott Select Brands’ franchise management company principal and above-property leaders in learning about Marriott’s standards, tools, resources and training so that they can effectively execute on Marriott’s requirements and drive performance for their hotels.
In August 2017, Executive Excellence launched a pilot for a new program – the Franchisee BSA/GSS Improvement Program. This program is for existing franchise management companies that have a significant portion (33%) of their Courtyard, Fairfield Inn, Residence Inn, SpringHill Suites, TownePlace Suites, AC Hotels and/or Moxy hotels in Marriott’s Red Zone 2 or higher Performance Classification as measured by Brand Standard Audit (BSA) and Guest Satisfaction Survey (GSS) results. Leaders from these companies will be asked to take part in the program as outlined in the program standard.
Program participants will be trained on Marriott’s standards, tools, resources and training over a nine-month period so that they can better meet Marriott’s requirements, improve BSA and GSS performance, and more effectively operate their hotels. The program will also share best practices from other, top-performing franchise management companies about the processes they have built that help them create, drive and sustain operational excellence at the organizational and hotel levels.
Fee: The fee for the Franchisee BSA/GSS Improvement Program will be $15,000 paid in-full, up-front. Attendees are also required to order and attend a Marriott Non-Accountable Audit (for a separate fee).
Required Attendees: Franchisee BSA/GSS Improvement Program is for principals of the franchise management company. Typically, two principals for each company attend the program. No hotel-level participants may take part in this program.
Timeline and Requirements: The BSA/GSS Improvement Program includes in-person meetings, webinars, online training, online knowledge checks and individual work assignments. Participants are required to actively participate as measured by 100% attendance at required events, completion of online learning and individual assignments, and passing grades on knowledge check requirements.
