Ending 2018 With Impact: Serve 360

As 2018 comes to a close, we would like to thank owners, franchisees and associates for their support of Marriott International’s sustainability and social impact platform, Serve 360 – and also encourage a year-end push to ensure we are meeting Serve 360’s goals.

DELIVER THE ‘YOUR ROLE IN PREVENTING HUMAN TRAFFICKING’ TRAINING

As previously communicated, all associates must complete human rights training by Dec. 31, 2018. Hotels can meet the requirement by requiring their associates to complete the myLearning module, “Your Role in Preventing Human Trafficking: Recognize the Signs” (#551161-75), which is free to all associates, available in 17 languages, and also offered as classroom training (#551176). The training helps associates’ understanding of human trafficking and their role in preventing exploitation.

If your hotel(s) have completed the requirements using an alternate training source, they then need to follow these steps to record external learning items.

Moving forward, newly-hired associates are to complete the training within the first 90 days of hire. Instructions and guidance for your hotel(s) to record group courses or completion outside of myLearning are available on MGS. Should you have any questions, contact social.impact@marriott.com

ENGAGEMENT & VOLUNTEER ACTIVITY REPORTING

In order to advance the Nurture Our World goals, including having 50% of franchise hotels report community service activities by 2025, we recommend that you ensure your hotel(s) report all 2018 cash, in-kind, and volunteer activities in Just Report It by January 31, 2019.

To be compliant with the OPS-ENG-047 brand standard, capture the great work being done by the franchise community to Sustain Responsible Operations, and ensure this information is fed into MarRFP, franchised hotels must report their utility data in the Marriott Environmental Sustainability Hub (MESH) and sustainability efforts in the Sustain Responsible Operations (SRO) Tracker

SERVE 360 CHAMPIONS

Should associates at your hotel(s) be passionate about doing good on property, in their communities, and around the world, the Serve 360 Champion opportunity is available. Associates can volunteer to activate and help make a positive and sustainable impact. Visit MGS for more information, including the S360 Champion role profile and steps that hotel associates should take to sign up.
