- Marriott has reached new terms with Booking.com. Some contract terms that did not change include: full inventory yield-ability, differentiation of direct channels with member benefits/rates/promotions, etc., receiving guest data with each booking, and no member benefits when booking through B.com.
- Commission reduction by ~0.70 bsp as of November 1, 2019.
- Wholesale Distribution Solution Update
- Marriott has launched an industry-first Wholesale Distribution Solution in collaboration with Expedia Partner Solutions, or EPS. This new solution will be the exclusive global redistributor of Marriott’s wholesale rates and availability to a network of global travel partners. The Wholesale Distribution Solution will drive long-term profitability for hotels, provide customers with a dependable experience, protect the integrity and value of Marriott brands, and enhance Marriott’s competitive positioning in the hotel marketplace.
- Key Dates include:
- Sept. 17: Properties, owners, and franchisees were notified of the Wholesale Distribution Solution
- Oct. 11: Hotels must complete rate program setup for Wholesale Distribution Solution
- Oct. 15: Wholesale Distribution Solution launches
- Nov. 15: Marriott will centrally disconnect affected redistributors and property-level contracts with non-certified redistributors will be canceled

- Guestroom Entertainment Update
- An enhanced version of Marriott’s Guestroom Entertainment platform (GRE) is being installed at all U.S. hotels that signed a quote for GRE on or after September 1, 2019.
- The enhanced version includes a new look and feel, which is co-branded with Marriott Bonvoy and the hotel’s flag brand. It offers the same content and streaming options as the existing platform, but all content and software updates are managed centrally without needing Entertainment Service Providers to perform manual updates.
- Property-specific compendium information will update automatically based on changes made in EPIC, just like Marriott.com and the Marriott Bonvoy app.

- Marriott Bonvoy™ for Associates and Eat Around Town by Marriott Bonvoy™
- Associates will be able to participate in Marriott Bonvoy™ as earning members on all stays, including eligible Explore Program and business travel rates, starting November 25, 2019. Associates will be able to earn points, redeem points, and achieve Elite status.
- Available Resources include:
- Marriott launched Eat Around Town by Marriott Bonvoy™ on October 2, 2019. Eat Around Town by Marriott Bonvoy™ is a new program that offers points to Marriott Bonvoy members who reside in the U.S. and dine at Rewards Network establishments located in the U.S.
- This benefit offers members (who are U.S. residents) the ability to earn Marriott Bonvoy points per $1 USD spent at Rewards Network participating restaurants. Marriott Bonvoy members earn 4 Marriott Bonvoy points per $1 USD spent. Elite members (Silver and above) earn 6 Marriott Bonvoy points per $1 USD spent.
- There is currently a Limited Time Offer that allows all members earning 8 points/$1 USD. This limited time offer ends November 11, 2019.
