Residential Amenities Brand Standard Update
Hotels in the U.S. will be provided brand specific bath amenity information and bracket ordering instructions via the March 1 Weekly Update. Hotels in Canada will receive ordering instructions once available.
Owners & Franchisees in the U.S. | As announced in August 2019, Marriott launched an initiative to replace single-use toiletry bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and bath gel in guestroom showers with brand approved, residential large bottle amenities.
- For Select and Premium brands, each shower will require three mounted brackets onto which the large bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash will be placed.
- The solution for our Luxury and Collection brands is in progress and an update will be provided in Q2 2020.
Select and Premium Brands Action Required
As we worked to find a cost effective solution for the bracket, we have modified the timing of the brand standard. Select and Premium hotels that offer individual (single use) bath amenities (shampoo, conditioner, and body wash) or are using a refillable residential amenity product must:
- Place their order for new brand approved brackets by June 30, 2020.
- Completely install their new brand approved, tamper-proof non-refillable, residential amenity program by Dec. 31, 2020.
Note: Hotels that have already installed a brand approved, tamper-proof, non-refillable residential amenity program (e.g. Paul Mitchell Tea Tree & This Works) will require no further action at this time. Additionally, Moxy Hotels currently use a dispensing system from Muk that meets the guidelines require no action at this time. As brand programs change in the future, hotels will be required to move to the new bracket and bottle solution.
