Review New Early Departure Charge Guidelines

Franchise Management Companies | In response to feedback from the Owner/Franchise community and to align with the former SPG hotels, Marriott has established guidelines for hotels that wish to charge guests an Early Departure Charges (EDCs). These guidelines are to be used to ensure the charge is adequately disclosed and displayed at the time of booking across all booking channels. All hotels that decide to charge an EDC must adhere to updated process guidelines. As part of the new guidelines, hotels charging an EDC must display and disclose the charge on Marriott.com, third-party partners, and the Marriott Bonvoy™ app. The approved disclosure language will be loaded centrally on behalf of hotels as a “Hotel Alert”, which will be visible at the time of booking and confirmation.
