July Monthly Integration Recap | SPG Hotels

Franchise Management Companies | Moving forward, we will continue to provide a monthly recap of the key changes shared with – and tasks asked of – SPG hotels related to the integration. We appreciate your support in ensuring your hotels remain informed and engaged throughout this process.

SUMMARY OF THIS MONTH’S ACTIVITIES

GMs and Change Champions at franchised SPG hotels continue to receive weekly emails and have the opportunity to participate in Check-In calls, which are held on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. ET. Continue to email  change.champions@marriott.com with any questions.

  • CLEAN SWEEP CONTEST | With summer here, more leisure guests are staying at hotels across the portfolio. Each year, Marriott holds a friendly competition among hotels to focus on increasing scores.
  • BRAND STANDARD AUDITS (BSA) FOR GROUP 1 HOTELS & BEGIN PROPERTY CERTIFICATION AND SELF-AUDITS | The BSA for Group 1 hotels is now available on the QA website. All department leaders and necessary associates should have access to the BSA materials and should have completed the Global Quality training, using the instructions on Land-It.
  • SPG CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT U.S. FULL LAUNCH | Mobile Check-In/Check-Out is a members-only benefit which supports Marriott’s Book Direct strategy and provides an expedited check-in experience. This program will launch to all SPG hotels (excluding Design Hotels, hotels with SPG Keyless, and Vistana) on July 25. Properties who have not completed preparation activities are at risk of not going live on this date. Review the Land-It pulse check report for your hotel’s status by clicking here.
  • FIRE LIFE & SAFETY STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES | As of July 1, former Starwood hotels transitioned to Marriott FLS standards and guidelines. To learn more about the FLS Standards and Guidelines visit The Platform. Should you have any questions, contact protection@marriott.com.
  • SPG KEYLESS WAVE 3 | SPG Keyless provides guests with the opportunity to use their mobile phone as their room key. It will be deployed to new opening hotels, as well as over 20 existing Aloft, Element, and W hotels (where it is a brand standard) in 2017.
  • NEW REFERRAL FEE AND BUSINESS TRANSIENT (BT) BOOKING COST SUMMARY | To support your team’s 2018 Pricing Season efforts, we recently posted a new resource that summarizes group referral fees associated with each of our sales channels. The resource also includes information about business transient (BT) booking costs that will be introduced in 2018 for former Starwood brands to cover US Account Sales centralized BT pricing support.
  • BILLING OF OPTIONAL MARRIOTT PROGRAMS & SERVICES (P&S) TO STARWOOD HOTELS | GMS, FINANCE LEADERS, ACCTS PAYABLE | In June, we began billing for approved optional 2017 MI P&S. If a hotel has ‘opted in’ to any optional P&S, you will see these billings included in the June Starwood billing invoice which was issued in early July. As a reminder, the presentation, format and distribution of the Starwood invoice does not change.
  • Q3 GLOBAL FOOD SAFETY AUDIT CHANGES & LEVERAGE LAND-IT FOR SUPPORT | F& B Leaders should be aware of changes associated with the Global Food Safety Audit (GFSA) and complete the GFSA electronically via the QA Website.
  • BEGIN LOGGING IN WITH GUESTVOICE USING MGS | As content from The Bridge is being migrated over to MGS, users can begin logging into guestVoice using MGS My Applications menu. Ensure you select the option for “Former Starwood associates” and continue logging into guestVoice with your StarwoodOne ID.
  • REVIEW Q3 GAME PLANS | Q3 Game Plans have been posted on mi360. GMs and their teams should review their brand-specific Game Plan to plan for this quarter’s key actions, read important reminders, and know which webinars to attend.
