Courtyard Bistro 2.0 Q3 Performance Update


Courtyard Owners & Franchise Management Companies | Courtyard’s new Bistro menu launched with the goal of elevating the evening experience and heighten the overall quality of the food and the guests’ reaction is positive.

  • Bistro 2.0 launched in the majority of U.S. hotels on March 1
    • In pilot hotels, it took 3 – 6 months to see a material lift in scores
    • As expected, Q3 results reflect this initial ramp up for hotels that launched on March 1
  • GSS results show lifts in all F&B metrics after isolating the impact of Bistro 2.0 using a regression model
    • F&B Quality +1.8pts, Evening Experience +1.2 pts, and F&B Satisfaction +1.1 pts, F&B Service +1.0pts
    • Breakfast Speed & Efficiency was flat (+0.3pts) as anticipated
  • Bistro SPOR are up +2.2% in Q3
    • Breakfast +4.7%, Beverage +4.6%, Dinner +3.6%
    • Starbucks (5.0%)
    • Franchised SPOR +2.8% and MxM SPOR +0.4% in Q3
  • Q3 MxM Profit Margin is down 3.7 pts but continues to improve each quarter as anticipated
    • Profit results pacing ahead of pilot hotels which took approximately 6 months to return to neutral

With the launch in Canada now complete, Bistro 2.0 is fully deployed in 958 hotels. Additionally, the new menu is garnering positive media and social influencer attention. On October 1, the Courtyard Boston Downtown/North Station hosted a Bistro Bar networking dinner during the Forbes Under 30 Summit.
