Associate Alert Implementation Update
Marriott International recently completed a rigorous vendor selection process to identify the leading technologies for Associate Alert Devices. As previously communicated, all Managed by Marriott and franchised hotels in the United States and Canada will be required to implement Associate Alert Devices by the end of 2020.
Marriott is now finalizing agreements with two preferred vendors who will provide reliable, room-level geolocation accuracy for Associate Alert Devices, and also equip hotels with a technology infrastructure that can support additional IoT (Internet of Things) use cases. For example, this could include notification of when room service trays are placed in hallways for pickup, tracking of luggage carts and other assets, and automated monitoring and reporting of pool chlorine levels. We highly encourage hotels to select one of our preferred vendors.
- For Managed by Marriott hotels: Details, including the one-time installation and annual (ongoing) costs, are being finalized with the preferred vendors. Additional information will be shared in the coming weeks, and deployment for hotels using the preferred vendors will begin in select markets in Q2 2019 and will proceed in a coordinated manner from market-to-market.
- For franchised hotels: please note the Talent Point by Marriott team will be adding the preferred vendors to their portfolio of optional HR offerings available to our franchisees. As part of the Talent Point offering, franchisees will have access to these vendors at volume-discounted rates. Franchisees will be able to use the Talent Point Associate Alert device initiative for their entire portfolio, including non-Marriott flagged properties.
